E-signature software for legal teams Originals that prove themselves

Originals that hold up when challenged. Engagement letters, settlement agreements, and NDAs need to survive a challenge. LedgerSign pairs each signed document with evidence a third party can examine on its own.

What legal teams send

Engagement letters, settlement agreements, and NDAs need to survive a challenge. LedgerSign pairs each signed document with evidence a third party can examine on its own.

Document types

  • Client acknowledgments

Plan requirement: Blockchain verification and the on-chain certificate require Business or above.

The problem

The value of a signed instrument is that it is the instrument that was signed. A PDF sitting in a matter folder cannot demonstrate that by itself, and a vendor audit log is only as persuasive as the vendor holding it. When authenticity is disputed, you want evidence that does not depend on anyone taking your word for it.

How the legal signing workflow runs

  1. Send from approved language

Templates keep every matter starting from language your firm has already cleared, with the variable fields marked.

  2. Capture consent, then signature

Signer consent to electronic records is captured and versioned before signing begins, so the consent is part of the record.

  3. Fingerprint and anchor

The executed document is hashed and the hash is written to a public blockchain, creating a timestamped record nobody can revise.

  4. Issue the certificate

A Certificate of Completion is generated from the audit record and travels with the document from then on.

The same five steps apply to every document type; the product tour shows each screen.

Which e-signature features matter for legal

Tamper-evident originals

The signed PDF is fingerprinted with SHA-256 and anchored on-chain. Change one byte afterwards and the fingerprints stop matching.

Court-ready audit logs

Every action is logged with actor, timestamp, IP address, and user agent, in an append-only history you can export when a review starts.

Certificate of Completion

Generated from the audit record rather than written alongside it, so the evidence and the summary cannot drift apart.

ESIGN and UETA consent capture

Consent to transact electronically is recorded and versioned before the first signature, not assumed after the fact.

Viewer access for review

Give opposing counsel, auditors, or co-counsel viewer access. They see the full record and can change nothing in it.

Templates for recurring instruments

Standardize engagement letters, NDAs, and releases so routine work stops going through partner review line by line.

What changes

  • Authenticity rests on testimony about internal controls

Authenticity rests on a hash anyone can recompute

  • Audit log lives with the vendor you have to trust

On-chain record verifiable without contacting the vendor

  • Every engagement letter drafted from the last one

Every matter starts from approved template language

The LedgerSign Certificate of Completion

From the product: the Certificate of Completion

Direct answers. Plan details are on the pricing page; the proof mechanism is explained in what a blockchain e-signature is.

Are documents signed through LedgerSign enforceable?

Electronic signatures are enforceable in the United States under the ESIGN Act and UETA when consent to electronic records, intent to sign, and a retained record are all present. LedgerSign records each of those as part of the document. Whether a specific instrument is admissible is a question for the court hearing it; what LedgerSign gives you is evidence that does not depend on anyone taking our word for it.

Can opposing counsel or an auditor review the record without changing it?

Yes. Give them Viewer access. They see the full document history and audit trail and can edit nothing. The audit trail is append-only for every role, including Owners.

What happens to the proof if LedgerSign shuts down?

The hash on Hedera stays. Verification needs only the signed PDF, the hash and transaction id on the Certificate of Completion, and a public Hedera explorer such as HashScan. None of those depend on LedgerSign being online. After cancellation you have 30 days to export every document.
